Op 17/07/11 rond de middag zijn we op de rede van Liepaja. Gelijk naar binnen en lossen. Ze verwachten er 3 dagen over te gaan doen om ons leeg te krijgen. Aansluitend naar Klaipeda om daar dan weer te gaan laden voor Dordt.

Ten anker op de rivier de Shannon. Kunnen zondagavond om 22:00 op de laadpier vastmaken. De bedoeling is dat we dan maandagavond met HW weer vertrekken naar Liepaja. Op de rede even een Freefall boat training gedaan. Hebben we weer een paar leuke foto's kunnen maken.

De Donau boven Schotland onderweg van Szczecin naar Ellesmere op de rivier de Mersey.
Na Ellesmere gaan we naar de rivier de Shannon (West Ierland) en daar moeten we dan weer laden voor Liepaja (Letland). Daarna laden in Klaipeda (Litouwen) voor Nederland. We zullen ergens tussen 20 en 25 Juli weer in Nederland zijn.

Op 21 Mei 2011 is ons schip gedoopt door Cisca Hartman-van Rooij, de vrouw van een van de eigenaren, John Hartman. Het schip is gedoopt in Zwijndrecht bij de Fa Nobel en Zn waar we even mogen liggen voor wat garantiepunten en deze opendag. Het partyschip Tourmalijn is bij ons opzij gekomen waar we een mooi feest hebben gehouden. We willen hierbij iedereen bedanken voor de aanwezigheid op onze opendag.

Gebunkerd in Ceuta. Omdat er in de Middelandse Zee geen zware olie laag zwavel is te krijgen moesten we Ceuta aanlopen om daar de juiste brandstof voor het SECA gebied (vanaf het engels kanaal) te bunkeren.
Om 08:00 de loods aan boord voor binnenlopen en om 23:00 de loods er uitgaand weer af. Aankomend weekend komen we aan in Duimkerken. 2 dagen lossen in Duinkerken volgens de agent.

Na Iskenderun zijn we in Ballast naar Itea gegaan. Daar waren we maandag 02/05/11 om 08:00 weer vast om Bauxite te laden voor Duinkerken. Woensdag om 17:00 weer vertrokken. Maandag 09/05/11 HFO laag zwavel bunkeren in Ceuta. Dan verder met ecospeed naar Duinkerken om daar maandag 16/05/11 weer te lossen. Aansluitend in ballast naar Zwijndrecht, waar we aan de Uilenkade, bij A. Nobel en Zn. mogen liggen om daar wat garantie punten op te lossen, en de 21ste een open dag te houden.

Vanmiddag eindelijk vertrokken uit Tuapse met een volle bak HBI voor Iskenderun. Als we niet hoeven te wachten voor de passage van de Bosporus kunnen we dinsdagmorgen in Iskenderun zijn. Momenteel in de Zwarte Zee met mooi, rustig weer erbij.

Vanmorgen om 08:50 direct de loods aan boord bij aankomst!!! Met 2 sleepboten voor de kant gebracht in deze uiterst gevaarlijke haven. (Sleepboten moeten hier ook wat verdienen, zullen we maar denken). Om 09:30 vast en wachten op het Russische inklaar circus. Om 13:00 hadden de heren tijd voor ons. Na 2 uur alle komma's en puntjes goed op papier gekregen, en een inspectie van een heel "gevaarlijk uitziende" drugshond (zal wel door iemand van thuis zijn meegenomen, denk ik) waren we ingeklaard. Daarna onze agente met de certificaten naar de heerser van de haven om toestemming te krijgen dat ons schip hier wel mag laden. Gelukkig toestemming gekregen van de heerser, en om 21:05 ging de eerste knijper HBI het ruim in. De stevedores zouden zoveel haast hebben dat ze graag met 3 kranen wilde gaan laden. Maar de praatjes zijn weer mooier dan de werkelijkheid. Ze gaan maar met 1 kraan laden. Niemand weet dus hoelang het gaat duren.

Vanmiddag om 17:30 zijn we dan toch eindelijk vertrokken uit Varna. Na vertrek eerst nog even het kompas opnieuw stellen. Zoals gebruikelijk in Bulgarije, moest dit ook weer opnieuw. Nu in Ballast onderweg naar het Russische gevaar....We hebben van de agent 10 blz met instructies ontvangen. Vooral wat niet mag.

We komen maandag morgen aan, wanneer weer weg????? Dan naar Iskendrun in Turkije.

Tot nu toe nog geen storingen, alarmen etc met een heel mooi rustig weer erbij.

Op 11/04/2011 Hebben we dan toch eindelijk de m/v Donau overgenomen van de werf. We gaan in bevrachting varen bij Nednor. De maiden voyage gaat van Taupse in Rusland (Zwarte Zee) naar Iskendrun in Turkije met een lading HBI. Van de week moeten we nog bunkeren en ISM/ISPS audit doen. En dan hopen we zaterdag te vertrekken naar Taupse.

Op 17 & 18 Maart zijn dan toch eindelijk de Seatrials succesvol gehouden. Met 2700 KW op de schroef, met een diepgang van 4,80 voor en achter, liepen we gemiddeld 14,95 Kn. Het schip ligt nu weer in de haven van Varna voor het in orde maken van de laatste punten. Over een week of 2 tot 3 zal het schip klaar zijn voor oplevering.

Vandaag ligt het schip in het droogdok in Varna. Hier wordt een inspectie gedaan voor eventuele schade van het transport van Rousse naar Varna. Verder wordt het onderwaterschip schoon gemaakt en opnieuw in de anti foulding gespoten. De bedoeling is dat het schip aan het einde van de week weer uit het dok gaat en ergens volgende week de Seatrials worden gehouden.

Langzaam komt het einde van het project in zicht. De opbouw is nu in de laatste laag gespoten. De ruimen zitten in de verf. Het schip buitenom zal van de week in de juiste kleur worden gespoten. Zo goed als alle systemen zijn opgestart. We hopen binnen 2 weken te vertrekken vanuit Rousse naar Varna voor de seatrials en oplevering.

Het schip wordt buitenom gereed gemaakt voor de laatste verflaag.

Vrijdag weer thuis gekomen. Volgens de planning van de werf gaan we 14/02/11 vertrekken van Rousse naar Varna. Eind Februari Seatrials. Dan nog een paar weken voor het oplossen van de laatste puntjes. We hopen dat we het schip ergens in Maart opgeleverd krijgen.

Hier weer wat foto's van het project. We denken eind Januari te vertrekken vanuit Rousse naar Varna voor de Seatrials en het in orde maken van de laatste items. De betimmering zit er grotendeels in. De vloeren worden nu gelegd en volgende week kunnen de meubles worden ingetimmerd.

De stand van zaken eind November. De navigatie uitrusting van SAM Electronics is maandag op de werf. We hebben nog steeds redelijk mooi weer en er wordt geprobeerd zoveel mogelijk te stralen en te verfen. Het hutten op het boatdeck zijn zo goed als af. Alleen de vloeren en de het meubilair moet nog geplaatst worden.

Vandaag weer in Rousse op de werf. Heel erg mooi weer hier. Wordt nu zoveel mogelijk geprobeerd te stralen en te verfen. In de accommodatie worden nu de wanden geplaatst.

Van de week is de uitlijning van schroefas/motor/tandwielkast en asgenerator uitgevoerd. Volgende week gaan ze beginnen met het gieten van de tandwielkast en de rubbers van de motor met shockfast.

Stuurhuis, hoofddek en tussendek zijn gestraald en gespoten. Kapitein/Eigenaren dek en Officieren dek zijn geïsoleerd. Alle kabels worden nu getrokken. In de machinekamer wordt hard gewerkt aan alle systemen. Achterruim is helemaal gestraald en in de zink gespoten. Op het voordek worden alle supports gemaakt voor kabels, verlichting etc.

Hierbij weer een aantal foto's. Van de week is de pijp geplaatst. Tevens staat de uitkijkpost op het voorschip op z'n plek. Langzamerhand krijgt het schip z'n uiteindelijke vormen. Het hoofdschakelbord en machinekamer controle console zijn geplaatst in het switchbordroom.

Hier weer een paar foto's van de vooruitgang. Er is begonnen met stralen en verfen van het achterruim. De graanschotten zijn gestraald en geverfd. Er is begonnen met trekken van de eerste kabels. In de accommodatie zijn ze bezig met leiding werk voor water en airconditioning systeem. In de machinekamer is het helemaal een chaos.

Bulgaarse logica. Eerst BB winch op z'n plek gezet en een week later komen ze met SB winch aan. Dan valt het niet me om de winch op z'n plaats te krijgen. Maar uiteindelijk lukt het ze toch en zijn ze heel tevreden.

Stralen van het ruim. Voorschot is verregent en moet weer opnieuw. De zijwanden zitten in de eerste laag zinkverf.

Hier weer een paar foto's. Een asfalttanker die voor ons afgebouwd werd is zondag vertrokken naar Varna voor verder afbouw en seatrails. Nu zijn alle afbouw mensen op ons schip bezig. Heeft wel wat weg van een mierenhoop.

De winchen en de ijskap zijn geplaatst. Overal zijn ze bezig met de doorvoeringen voor de kabels. Van de week willen ze gaan beginnen met de eerste kabels. Er moet ongeveer 75 kilometer aan kabel worden getrokken. Verder zijn ze bezig met de airc

onditioning leidingen en het leiding werk in de machinekamer.

Gezellig met 30 man in 1 gangboord aan het werk. Ook aan de andere kant staan er zoveel te werken.

Op 16 September 2010 is de m/v Frisiana gedoopt door Renske Boomsma aan de korte lijnbaan in Harlingen. Het schip was in Augustus overgedragen aan Boomsma Shipping. Na de overdracht heeft de m/v Frisiana in Mariupol (Oekraine) geladen voor Gijon. In Bilbao heeft ze weer geladen voor Gent. Na de doop plechtigheid in Harlingen gaat het schip zaterdag lossen in Gent.

Vorige week is de accomodation geplaats. Begint nu eindelijk vorm te krijgen. De hatchcoaming is nu helemaal geplaatst en afgelast. Het meeste van de uitrusting is op de werf en wordt nu geplaatst. Begin September worden de winchen op de werf verwacht en kan de ijskap over het voordek worden geplaatst.

Het achterschip. Bezig met aflassen van de naam en thuishaven van het schip. Zodra alle uitrusting in de machinekamer is geplaatst, wordt de schoorsteen geplaatst.

Langzamerhand is er een beetje vooruitgang. De hoofdmotor, generatoren, boosterunit en de bedieningskasten van de hydraulisch bedienbare afsluiters zijn geplaatst. De hatchcoaming is geplaatst en wordt volgende week afgelast. In de accommodatie zijn de raamkozijnen geplaatst en ze wordt voorbereid om op het schip te worden gezet.

Het achterschip met de thuishaven aangehecht. De verbrande plekken zijn van het rechten van de staalplaten. Wordt daarna opnieuw gestraald en geverfd.

Op 29/06/2010 is ons casco (hull 822) te water gelaten. Op 30/06/2010 is ze naar de afbouwkade versleept voor verder afbouw. Vorige week is de m/v Frisiana (hull 821) van Rousse naar Varna vertrokken. Op 24 en 25 Juli zal de proefvaart worden gehouden.

Hierbij weer een paar foto's van mijn laatste bezoek. Voor en achterschip staan nu tegen elkaar en worden voorbereid om aan elkaar gezet te worden. Roer is geplaatst en het is nu wachten op de schroefbladen. De rest van het schip moet nog gestraald en geverfd worden en dan kan het schip te water. Casco zal ergens eind Mei te water gaan.

We hebben weer een bezoek gebracht aan de werf. De schroefas is geplaatst en ze zijn bezig met de roerkoning. Een aantal dubbele bodem tanks zijn gestraald en in de verf gespoten. Dit weekend is er begonnen met stralen van het buitenboord onderwaterschip. Verder zijn ze bezig met het plaatsen van de coaming. We denken dat het schip ergens eind mei te water zal worden gelaten. Er staan meer foto's in de foto map rechts op de weblog.

Onze motor heeft proef gedraaid op de proefstand. De motor was aangesloten op een water rem.

Hier weer een paar foto's van ons schip. We verwachten dat het schip ergens in Mei te water zal gaan.

De accommondatie van achter gezien. Hier het kapitein/eigenaar dek met daaronder het dek voor de 1ste officieren en een hospital met alle medicijnen. Hier bovenop komt het stuurhuis en eronder het dek met kantoor, messroom en keuken.

Achterkant van het ruim. Tegen de coaming komt het bunkerstation. Op de hoogte van de luikens kunnen er hier nog containers worden geladen. Er komt hier ook een luik naar de MK voor zware onderdelen.

Het voorschip is nu ook weer in de loods gezet. Wordt nu klaargemaakt om aan het achterschip vast gelast te worden.

Op 10/02/2010 is de Meridiaan opgeleverd. Ze is moet in Mariupol in de Oekraine kolen laden voor Gent. Nu wordt er druk gewerkt aan de afbouw van hull 821 de Frisiana voor Boomsma Shipping in Sneek. De werf wil proberen dit schip ergens eind Mei op te leveren. Ons schip zal wel ergens in Mei te water gaan. Onderstaand weer een paar foto's van de langzame ontwikkelingen.

Hierbij foto's van de Meridiaan. Afgelopen week heeft het schip 3 dagen proefgevaren. De snelheid was 14,41 kn met 2700 KW en een diepgang van 4,80 mtr. Nu ligt het schip weer in Varna om de laatste items in orde te maken en zal waarschijnlijk ergens eind Januari klaar zijn voor de overdracht.

Het eerste schip bouwnr 820, de Meridiaan van C.Schot met thuishaven Terneuzen, is vertrokken bij Rousse Shipyard en onderweg naar Varna. Daar zullen de laatste dingen worden afgemaakt en de proefvaarten worden gehouden. De achtermast moet nog geplaatst worden ivm vaarhoogte op de donau. De proefvaart zal ergens begin Januari plaatsvinden.

Onderstaand is te zien dat langzamerhand de secties van de onderdekse accommondatie worden geplaatst. Op dit dek komen de hutten van 4 Matrozen, 2 2de Officieren, CO2 kamer, Workshop, Stuurmachinekamer en nog wat andere vertrekken. Als hier alles geplaatst is komt het dek waar weer de rest van de accomondatie op wordt geplaatst. Dit gedeelte wordt helemaal gereed gemaakt en dan in 1 keer geplaatst.

Op onderstaande foto het voorschip dat nu buiten staat. De hele denneboom moet nog geplaatst worden. Tevens zijn de gaten zichtbaar waar de borgen van de graanschotten komen te zitten.

Voorschip van voor gezien. Secties van voordek moeten nog geplaatst worden. De laatste secties worden geplaatst aan de wal maar niet afgelast. Als alles past worden ze er weer afgehaald om gewicht te besparen voor ter waterlating. Als het schip dan in het water ligt worden de secties terug geplaatst en afgelast.

Hieronder een foto van de pijpentunnel. Op dit schip hebben we een pijpentunnel waar alle ballastleidingen door heen komen te liggen. Er komen 2 ringleidingen doorheen zodat we een dubbel ballastsysteem hebben. We krijgen 2 pompen van 250 m3/hr, en 2 pompen van 125 m3/hr. We kunnen in totaal dus 750 m3/hr ballasten. Deze snelheid is wel nodig omdat er zo'n 4000 m3 ballast in het schip gepompt kan worden. In deze pijpentunnel komen tevens alle afsluiters (hydraulische afstandbediening) van de tanks. Dit heeft als voordeel dat ze altijd bereikbaar zijn. Wordt niet echt eenvoudig om ze te bereiken.

Hieronder weer een foto van het voorschip. Hierop is zichtbaar hoe het voorste stukje van het schip vastgelast wordt. Als dit stukje eraan vast zit is het voorste stuk onderwaterschip gereed. Ze zijn nu zo veel mogelijk alles van het voorschip aan het afmaken zodat heel het voorschip buiten de loods gereden kan worden. Als het achterschip dan ook gereed is kunnen ze die ook naar buiten rijden en aan het voorschip vastlassen.

Hierbij foto's van de laatste secties van het voor en achterschip. Er wordt momenteel gewerkt aan het ballastsysteem dat bij ons van kunstof leidingen wordt gemaakt. Verder worden brandblusleidingen, peilpijpen etc geplaatst. Als alles dan gereed is worden het voor en achterschip aan elkaar gelast.

Achterschip met goed zichtbaar de roerkoning die nog afgelast moet worden.

Nadat de boegschroef is geplaatst kan het voorschip worden afgemaakt. Boven de bulbsteven moet het ook nog worden dichtgemaakt voor varen in ijs.

Van maandag tot woensdag zijn Jan van Veen en ik weer eens een keer op de werf wezen kijken. Het werk ziet er goed uit maar het gaat allemaal zeer moeizaam met de figuren die de werf moeten aansturen. Bouwnummer 820 (Meridiaan) is nu in afbouwfase. Dit verloopt uiterst stroef omdat het het eerste schip is van de serie. Alles moet op dit schip uitgevonden worden. De Meridiaan zal ergens September/ Oktober klaar moeten kunnen zijn.
Volgens de werf zal ons schip 20 Augustus te water gaan maar dat zal minimaal wel een maand later zijn.

Voorschip. Volgende week verwachten ze de boegschroef unit op de werf te hebben en kan het voorschip afgemaakt worden.

Test Holdcleaner

Holdcleaner

Woensdag 17/06/09 is de holdcleaner getest. Deze holdcleaner is bedacht door Jan van Veen en verder uitgewerkt met Coops & Nijborg, Cees Schot, Boomsma Shiping & Wijnne en Barends. Met subsidie is uiteindelijk deze holdcleaner gebouwd door Coops & Nijborg.

De test is zeer goed verlopen en er moeten nog een aantal dingen aangepast en afgesteld worden. Ons ruim gaat 10 mtr hoog worden en is haast onmogelijk om zo hoog te kunnen afspuiten. Met de holdcleaner kun je binnen 2 uur heel het ruim schoonborstelen en hoeft de bemanning alleen de tanktop nog schoon te maken. Alle schepen die in Bulgarije gebouwd gaan worden krijgen deze holdcleaner op de luikenkar gebouwd.

De test is op een 14000 tons schip in Groningen gedaan waarvan het ruim iets dieper is dan onze schepen in Bulgarije. Hierdoor komt de borstel niet op de tanktop. Ruim is ook breder en voor test is er een constructie in het ruim gelast.

Ik heb de grafiek van de Baltic Dry Index (BDI) en de Crude Oil Price op de weblog geplaatst (Rechter kolom). De BDI is een zeer belangrijke graadmeter voor de economie. De Crude Oil Price is een indicatie voor de stookolie prijs waar schepen zoals de mv Donau op varen. Onderstaand de uitleg van de BDI. (Infobron Wikipedia)

De Baltic Dry Index (BDI) is de belangrijkste graadmeter voor tarieven van de bulk-scheepvaart. Het wordt dagelijks gepubliceerd door de Londense Baltic Exchange. De koers wordt samengesteld op basis van de tarieven die betaald worden om grondstoffen te vervoeren op de 25 drukst bevaren scheepvaartroutes.

De Baltic Dry Index is voor economen van belang, omdat deze de wereldeconomie vrijwel direct volgt zonder politieke of andere invloed. Waar andere economische indicatoren beïnvloed kunnen worden — werkgelegenheidscijfers zijn vaak schattingen, consumentenvertrouwen meet niet veel meer dan sentiment, vaak zonder link met consumentenuitgaven en het bruto nationaal product wordt regelmatig aangepast — reageert de BDI slechts op het volume van de wereldhandel. Ook het speculatieve element van de beurs ontbreekt, omdat men slechts een schip chartert als men lading te vervoeren heeft.

Werfbezoek

Op 19/02/09 hebben we een bezoek gebracht aan de werf. Het eerste schip bouwnummer 820 mv Meridiaan lag gedurende ons bezoek in de lift en werd te water gelaten. We hebben de secties bekeken, en het zag er allemaal naar tevredenheid uit. Naar schatting van onze surveyor zal nr 821 ergens in Mei te water gaan en ons schip ergens in Juli.

Bij ons schip waren ze bezig met de secties van het voorschip overeind te zetten en de secties

van het middenschip stonden grotendeels overeind. De rest van de secties zijn grotendeels al klaar om ook overeind te zetten.

Van 21/10 tot 24/10 hebben we een bezoek gebracht aan de werf in Bulgarije. Gedurende ons bezeok hebben we de bouwhal bezocht en hebben op bouwnummer 820 van Schot Scheepvaart rond gekeken. Op dit schip moet de achtersteven nog geplaatst worden. Bij het voorschip moet de bulpsteven en bovenliggende secties nog geplaatst worden. Daarna moet het voor en achterschip aan elkaar gelast worden. Het begint al echt de vormen van een schip aan te nemen. De bedoeling is dat dit casco ergens eind november te water gaat.

Bouwnummer 821 van Boomsma Shipping loopt een klein beetje achter op 820 en zal ergens december / januari te water gaan.

Van ons schip bouwnummer 822 lagen overal secties verspreid. Ook in de staalsnijloods lag het helemaal bezaaid met allemaal stukjes staal voor ons schip. Zodra bouwnummer 820 te water is zal op deze plaats de secties voor ons schip worden geplaatst en aan elkaar worden gezet.

Tevens hebben we op de werf de kleuren voor de inrichting uitgezocht.
